I'm so glad you were able to find us in cyberspace! I'm Wendy the owner of the Black Bird Country Quilt Works website.

BBCQW (for  short) is  your Canadian online store located along the Northern shores of Lake Erie in a hamlet called Normandale in Ontario Canada. I use to run a small hairdressing shop here in Normandale. A few years ago I got the idea to ask one of my customers Terry Anderson who is a professional machine quilter, "can you teach me how to quilt?" and that started the quilt bug, the quilters itch, call it whatever you like but I got it!

Before I knew it I got the quilt bug. Buying fabric just to pet it... going to fabric shops to buy fabric for my "stash" then day dream about what to make out of it..... I purchased a big tote bag to hide fabric from hubby just so I could smuggle it into the house. Quickly I'd wash my new fabric before hubby seen it then say "What this is old fabric"? LOL...... Yes, we've all been there and done that before, and if you haven't you will!

Once Terry knew I could quilt something she said "how about joining up to the Norfolk Quilters Guild?" So, I signed up with the guild took workshops, getting involved with cuddle quilts for the county Children's Aid Society, going to quilt shows. From that point  I opened up the website Black Bird Country Quilt Works then in 2009 I decided to branch out and open up a real live storefront!
